Capacity Building workshop for Delhi, Punjab and Manipur
In August 2025, Project SPECTRUM rolled out a series of Capacity Building Workshops for health workers in Amritsar, Imphal, and Delhi, reaching more than 75 participants. Each workshop became a space where frontline providers not only strengthened their understanding of Sexualised Substance Use (SSU), Harm Reduction, and PEP/PrEP but also shared lived experiences from their day-to-day work. One health worker in Amritsar reflected, “This is the first time I could openly talk about the challenges I face when reaching out to people who use substances. I feel more confident now about how to respond without judgment.”
The workshops blended learning with dialogue, using case studies, group exercises, and open discussions to build practical skills while creating a sense of collective purpose. Across all three cities, participants expressed a renewed commitment to providing inclusive, stigma-free, and community-centred services. By strengthening the knowledge and confidence of health workers, these workshops have laid the groundwork for more empathetic, effective, and sustainable HIV response efforts.

Strengthening Care & Support Centres: National Training of Trainers | | | | From 26–29 August 2025, the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), in collaboration with Alliance India and other NGPRs, hosted the National Training of Trainers on Operational Guidelines & Mobile Application for Care & Support Centres (CSCs) in New Delhi. The training brought together State AIDS Control Society officials, technical experts, SR partners, and community representatives to build capacity on the revised CSC guidelines, enhance the practical use of the SOCH app for case management and reporting, strengthen facilitation skills for cascade training, promote standardisation across CSC programmes, and create a pool of master trainers for technical guidance and supervision. Dr Chinmoyee Das, HOD CST, NACO, highlighted the crucial role of SACS and partner agencies as mentors and trainers in achieving the 95-95-95 targets, ensuring knowledge is shared effectively and sustainably. | | | | | | | | As we continue to embark on these transformative journeys and make a lasting impact on the lives of the most marginalised, like People Living with HIV, transgender and other such group.
