When industries take the lead, positive change follows: Sensitisation Workshop in Faridabad’s Garment Sector | | | | | | At the beginning of July 2025, Grand Sallie Lifestyle Products Pvt. Ltd., a garment design and export company based in Faridabad, reached out to Alliance India with a request to conduct sensitisation training on HIV and related health issues for their staff. Alliance India responded promptly, organising a comprehensive six-day training programme from 15th to 20th July that reached over 800 workers across 12 batches.
The sessions focused on the basics of HIV, TB, Hepatitis, and non-communicable diseases, along with the HIV/AIDS Act, 2017. The training encouraged interactive dialogue, with many workers asking thoughtful and personal questions, highlighting just how urgently accurate, accessible information is needed in workplace settings. We as an organisation believe that no space—whether factory, office, or field—is left behind in the journey toward awareness and inclusion. When industries step forward like Grand Sallie did, they not only protect the health of their employees but also actively combat stigma, promote rights, and cultivate a work culture rooted in dignity.
This initiative sets a strong example for other companies to follow. In an era where inclusion and employee well-being are more important than ever, such collaborations are not just welcome, they are essential.
Healing Through Art: Aizawl Central Jail Hosts Creative Workshop
On 18th July, the Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS), in collaboration with Aizawl Art Gallery, organised a therapeutic art workshop at Aizawl Central Jail. Conducted by artist Pu Tanpuia, the workshop offered inmates a creative outlet for emotional expression and mental well-being.
Fifty-six inmates participated, learning sketching and visual art techniques and receiving individual art kits. The initiative also introduced an IEC entertainment package for regular engagement through smart TVs installed in each ward. Organised with the support of Alliance India’s Prisons & Closed Settings team and jail staff, the programme was well-received and is now being considered for expansion across Mizoram’s district jails.
Kochi Steps Up for Trans Livelihoods | | | | July marked a proud and promising moment for Sahas Kochi as the Inner Wheels Club donated two sewing machines to support the livelihood and empowerment of transgender individuals. This initiative is a direct outcome of the sensitisation efforts carried out by Alliance India.
These two machines, though simple in form, represent powerful tools of transformation. They are not just machines; they are opportunities. With them, Sahas Kochi will begin skill-based training programmes that equip transgender persons with employable tailoring skills. For many, this will be a chance to gain financial independence, break cycles of marginalisation, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
The handover ceremony, attended by Inner Wheels officials and Sahas representatives, was a moment of solidarity and hope. This small but meaningful step lays the foundation for a more inclusive future, where people from the transgender community are not only accepted but are also enabled to thrive with dignity and pride.
Stories of Resilience, Support and Change. | | | | His Work Speaks Louder Than Stigma
In Ahmednagar, a man who had faithfully served for over 30 years preparing mid-day meals for schoolchildren was suddenly dismissed—not because of performance or misconduct, but because he was HIV-positive. This abrupt termination caused emotional and financial distress for his family. But with the support of the Vihaan team at the Care & Support Centre (CSC), his story changed course.
Our team engaged with school authorities and local leaders, addressing misinformation and advocating for his right to work. Community awareness sessions followed, creating a space for empathy and acceptance. Eventually, the man was reinstated, returning to the school kitchen with renewed dignity and pride.
His story is a powerful reminder that HIV does not define a person; their work, strength, and resilience do. | | | | | | | | | | | | Protecting the Next Generation—One Baby, One Visit, One Call at a Time
A 26-year-old woman in rural Gujarat was diagnosed HIV-positive during labour, just moments before giving birth. The newborn was immediately put on ART prophylaxis, and follow-up care became critical. Without a mobile phone or means of contact, the mother’s care became a challenge.
The Vihaan CSC team stepped up with home visits and continuous support. But when the family, fearing societal judgement, stopped the baby’s treatment, the child was marked Lost to Follow-Up. The team did not give up. They listened, built trust, and even tracked the family to another village. Their tireless efforts paid off, care resumed, and at 18 months, the baby’s confirmatory test came back HIV-negative.
This story reflects the deep impact of care that goes beyond the clinic and into the heart of every home. | | | | | | | | | | | | As we continue to embark on these transformative journeys and make a lasting impact on the lives of the most marginalised, like People Living with HIV, transgender and other such group. We invite our generous donors to stand with us. Your support fuels innovation, empowers individuals, and rekindles hope. Join us in shaping a brighter and more inclusive future for all. Your contributions make a world of difference.
Thank you for being a beacon of change and a source of strength.
